Clashground Announcements: Alpha Clash Kickoff Events for 2025
Alpha Clash fans, the wait is over! The 2025 Organized Play season kicks off with Clashground: Pasay and Clashground: Las Vegas II; two epic weekends packed with fun competition, unforgettable experiences, and surprises you won’t want to miss.
We are committed to delivering events that perfectly blend fun and competitiveness. This year, we’re raising the bar with new twists, groundbreaking lore integrations, and improved rewards that are sure to ignite your competitive spirit and maximize the fun.
Event Highlights
Prize Cards Like Never Before
As some have discovered, the back of our Trading Cards say, “To the winner goes the spoils, an Alpha will be crowned champion”. We’ve got new and improved prize cards to honor the words that have been with us since the beginning and showcase the work of our amazing artists.
Champion Cards: Gold backgrounds with textless alternate-art, to celebrate the incredible performance of our champion.
Top 8 Cards: Silver backgrounds with equally gorgeous textless alternate-art designs.
Participant Cards: Bronze backgrounds, a striking memento of the weekend, with uniquely playable event-specific locations.
Lore-Driven Location Promos
For the first time, lore meets gameplay in a more monumental way. The Progenitors, the mysterious overseers of the Alpha Clash universe, are intervening! As you’ll find soon in upcoming lore and gameplay releases, these powerful beings like to get involved and change the course of history.
As a tribute to their intervention, each Clashground event will feature a location participant promo card that transforms gameplay:
“Somewhere in Las Vegas” or “Somewhere in Pasay” will be permanently in play for every game all weekend at their respective events.
These event-specific cards enhance strategy and bring a thematic twist of fun to the weekend.
Other Clashground cards can still be played as normal. These special event cards cannot be removed, and no one controls them. They remain in-play no matter the circumstance and embody the chaos and unpredictability of the Progenitor’s Gambit.
After the event ends, these special cards will only be legal in Gambit gameplay.
Players will have the opportunity to earn and receive up to four copies over the course of the weekend in Las Vegas: one copy for participation in the Pre-Release tournament on Friday, one copy for playing Cosmic Conquest on Friday evening at the social event, one copy for participation in the Constructed tournament on Saturday, one additional copy for making Top Cut in the Constructed tournament on Sunday or for playing Gambit in the side events on Sunday. Players in Pasay will have the opportunity to earn four copies, with: one for participation, two copies to the Top 16, three Copies to the Top 8, and four copies to the Champion.
Bounties: A Challenge Worth the Risk
The Progenitors have introduced a new twist for the bold and daring: Bounties. At Clashground: Las Vegas II and Clashground: Pasay, players have the opportunity to claim a Bounty by competing with specific Contenders.
The Contender Bounty List
Five Contenders, representing one of each color and spanning the first four sets, are at the heart of this first Bounty challenge:
Conquest, the Indestructible (White)
Flare, Nova Assailant (Red)
LINN, Rogue Agent (Blue)
Moxie, Ready to Hunt (Black)
Pestilence, Toxic Presence (Green)
The highest finishing player piloting a deck featuring each of these Contenders will earn a $100 bonus cash prize and a textless Contender Bounty card. These cards serve as a badge of honor for our boldest players.

Revamped Tournament Rules: A New Era of Competitive Play
To elevate the Alpha Clash Organized Play experience and strike the perfect balance between fun and competitiveness, we’ve revamped the tournament structure for 2025. After carefully considering player feedback and analyzing past events, we’re introducing new Swiss round rules designed to ensure every game is engaging and impactful.
Best-of-2 Swiss Rounds
Gone are the days of stressful time constraints, unfulfilling matches, and feel-bad moments. Swiss rounds will now follow a Best-of-2 match format, with a points-based system determining the standings. Each game in a match holds weight, creating a dynamic environment where every decision matters.
Points System Breakdown
Win 2-0: Earn 3 points
Win 1-0: Earn 1 point
Split 1-1: Earn 1 point
Lose 0-1 or 0-2: Earn 0 points
This streamlined system rewards decisive victories while ensuring that even a single game win can make a difference in the standings.
Top Cut
Once the Swiss rounds conclude, the Top Cut bracket will transition to the traditional untimed Best-of-3 matches.
