Clash Report: Vault Release Week & Rules Updates
The Vault Is Open!
Vault Release Week is finally here. New cards, experiences, and challenges are coming to Clashers around the world. The Vault Trials includes the full PvE raid experience, four Spoils of the Vault booster packs, and two exclusive decks featuring eight alternate-art cards and eight exclusive cards.
The Spoils of the Vault expansion introduces 56 new cards (plus chase variants), including new support for the Harbinger affiliation and other strategies. Each box contains 20 booster packs with each pack containing 5 cards.
Effective June 22: Comprehensive Rulebook Updates
With the release of Spoils of the Vault comes an update to the Comprehensive Rulebook. This update introduces new keywords, gameplay clarifications, PvE raid rules, and several important rules changes that all Clashers should review before their next game.
New Keywords:
Siege X: If this deals clash damage to a Contender, they diminish X.
Shroud X: Opposing players must pay X additional in order to target this with a card or effect.
Manifest: You can play this without paying its resource cost by performing the action following the keyword instead.
Additional Rules Updates & Clarifications:
Hooves of Havoc got an Errata. This change was needed in order for the card to function as intended. It now states:
Attached card gets +1/+0 and, “Trigger - Victory: Reveal the top card of your deck. You may engage an attached [Hooves of Havoc]. If you do, put the revealed card into your hand. Otherwise, you may put the revealed card on the bottom of your deck.
Double-sided Contenders have received a rules update. Existing deck-building restrictions were interfering with the intended functionality.
A new Token section has been added to the Comprehensive Rulebook.
Unrivaled cards can no longer be searched unless a card effect specifically states otherwise.
A new combat timing step has been added before combat damage is dealt. This provides a clearer timing window for triggers and priority.
Rules for the PvE Raid, The Vault Trials, have been added to the Comprehensive Rulebook.
New FAC entries have been added for Clarity, Ready for Trials, Anzudak, the Wrathful, and Dual Weaponry.
The summary of these changes can be found at the bottom of the Comprehensive Rulebook 7.5 in Appendix D: Change Log.
Effective August 1: Balance Update
As Alpha Clash continues to grow, we remain committed to maintaining a healthy and enjoyable gameplay experience.
These changes are based on tournament results, player feedback, future design considerations, and the long-term health of Alpha Clash as an eternal format. As always, our preference is to keep cards playable whenever possible through targeted errata and deck-building restrictions rather than bans.
Updates:
Morac, the Devourer is receiving an errata and may now only search for a non-Unrivaled, cost 3 or less Discarded card. His updated text reads:
Ambush
Counter - Attack: You may pay BB. If you do, put this card into play from your Accessory Zone. If the portal is open, you may pay B instead.
Trigger - Enter: You may search your deck for a non-Unrivaled, non-[Morac] (Discarded) Clash card with an initial resource cost of three or less, reveal it, and add it to your hand. Then shuffle your deck.
When this clash card deals Clash damage to an (Alpha) Clash card, it deals double that much damage to it instead.
Haven, Bountiful Collector is receiving a deck-building restriction and may now only be included in decks featuring a Blue Earth Contender. Her updated text reads:
[Blue], [Earth]
You may only play one [Haven, Bountiful Collector] per turn.
Trigger - Enter: You may put one card from your hand into your Resource Zone engaged.
Trigger - Defeat: Return target non-Trap Accessory from your Oblivion to your hand.
Deck Size is moving to a range. Main decks must contain between 50 and 60 cards. Sideboards may contain 0–15 cards.
Several cards and card combinations remain on the team's watchlist. We will continue monitoring gameplay data and make adjustments as needed. Current cards near the top of our watchlist include:
• Torque, the Uncontrollable
• HERE COMES THE BOOM!
• LINN, the Nanite Assassin
• Shocking Revelation
Whether you're diving into The Vault Trials PvE Raid, cracking open your first Spoils of the Vault packs, or refining your deck with the latest updates, there's never been a better time to be an Alpha Clasher. Thank you for your continued support!
