Alpha Clash Characters
In the world of Alpha Clash, the Progenitors are a powerful and enigmatic race of beings that created the universe and everything within it. Approximately every ten thousand Earth years, The Progenitors release waves of energy that imbue certain individuals with superpowers known as Alphas. These Alphas are driven by an uncontrollable urge to find and fight other Alphas, a phenomenon known as “The Pull.” The Progenitors’ heralds, the Harbingers, gather the survivors of the Alpha Clashes and usher them to other worlds to compete and survive.
Alpha Clash: The Awakening begins with an explosion at the CERN labs in Geneva, Switzerland, which releases a mysterious energy that covers the world. Shortly after, people manifest superpowers and engage in chaotic battles, calling themselves Alphas. The US military launches a response, and Claire, a former champion of previous Alpha Clashes and an immortal, emerges as a guide to help some Alphas navigate the chaos by freeing some from “The Pull.”
As Alphas emerge across the world, Claire and the Alphas she freed from “The Pull,” launch a bid to save the world from the battling superpowered beings. Adding to the complexity of the Alpha Clash universe are the Harbingers, powerful beings that are believed to be the heralds of the Progenitors. These entities possess incredible power and influence and come to Earth to gather the Champions of Alpha Clashes and take them to battle the Alpha Clash Champions of other worlds. However, their true motivations and allegiances are shrouded in mystery, and become the subject of intense fascination and speculation among Claire’s group of supporters and the US Military. Overall, the lore of Alpha Clash is a rich and intriguing world filled with unique characters and conflicts, making it a captivating and engaging read for fans of science fiction and fantasy.
ClaritY
Clarity is an immortal. Clarity has lived for eons and earned her place as one of the first Alphas to emerge from a Progenitors’ Gambit. She has been in countless battles and has served the Progenitors but settled on Earth after the last Alpha Clash reset society over 10,000 years ago. As events unfold on Earth and an Alpha Clash looms, Clarity (Claire to her friends) is determined to stop the violence from devastating the civilization she has become attached to. Claire’s powers are vast and mysterious, but she can free Alphas from “the Pull,” if they want to be freed. Claire is the guiding hope to our heroes and an unofficial leader of a group of Alphas she has freed.
Haven
Haven is eight years old, almost nine. Claire found her in an alley in Detroit, living in squalor behind a dumpster. Claire named her Haven, as the poor child could not remember her own name. Claire took in Haven and raised her for a year before the events of The Awakening took place. Haven also has powers and is a riddle Claire intends to solve. Haven is a fun, precocious, and kind little Asian girl who Claire is quite fond of.
Magnate
Magnate, later known as Maximus Braunbeck, established himself as an ultra-powered Alpha in New York City. Magnate sets himself apart as a leader and dominator of all Alphas. Magnate controls nuclear energy and releases superheated radiation. He can also throw Gamma Spears, energy forged into a spear by Magnate’s will and hurled at his enemies. Magnate is supernaturally durable and can fly.
Moxie
The US Army promoted Maxine Riggins to Major after demonstrating bravery in a first encounter with Magnate. Maxine Riggins serves the US Army, First Cavalry Division. The US Army loaned Riggins to a special project as a test pilot. Under Colonel Edwards’ supervision, Riggins was helping develop advanced weapon systems in exoskeleton and power armor. Major Riggins heads up a portion of the US response to the rise of Alphas and teams with Claire to take down a ruthless and powerful Alpha, Magnate.
Mean-Streak
Curtis Stenner was just a kid from the streets of Chicago. They dishonorably discharged him from the army and so he was a bully and a thug in Garfield Park, Chicago, when The Awakening swept over him. Once awakened, Curtis developed super speed and agility. But what was even more unique were “the streaks.” Black, amorphous globules emerge from Curtis. They seem to be sentient and can float and fly around him at extreme speeds. Curtis calls them his “streaks.” The streaks surround him, protect him from harm, and act as scouts and confidants. No one really knows what the streaks are, including Curtis. Curtis got the name Mean-Streak from Sergeant Webber, after Webber had observed him in action.
Torque
Oliver Simmons was a cruel and treacherous inmate of Supermax prison when he was changed by The Awakening. Feeling “the Pull” take him, Oliver embraced it and loved his new powers. Torque can absorb energies, including kinetic energy and then redirect the energy somewhere else. He turns the energy away, and usually back to its source. But that’s not why they call him Torque. Oliver was not in Supermax Prison because he was a nice guy. Oliver was in prison because he was a serial killer with the proclivity to wrench people’s heads around 180 degrees, breaking their necks and leaving them “torqued.”
